3.Creative brief: 1 page
Overview
This church is looking to broaden the scope of their outreach by redesigning their web page and making it more lively and welcoming. The website should appeal to christians and the general public to want to know more about the 3C Cowboy Fellowship.

Audience

The audience will be a wide range of people all with the country or cowboy lifestyle and beliefs in common. Their ages will range from youth to late seventies. Young couples as well as old, singles and divorce's.

Tone

The tone will be casual and warm. The over all theme would be come as you are all are welcome.
The audience feels that church has to be full of rituals and rules, not about a true spiritual relationship.
That worship is more of a chore than anything else, a place they go every sunday to dress up,feel uncomfortable and be made to feel as if youre an outsider.
The tone of welcome and warm, coupled with a casual feel will get the audiences attention, photos of real people and actual services will have them taking a second look.
The images should be rustic without having a cheesy B movie cinema feel to them.A grass roots look

The main feature of 3C is that its a come as you are, everyone is welcome organization. It should be stressed that they believe church is to share in the scripture and feel fellowship with one another not just assemble and follow some rituals with little individual meaning. This approach to a religous service will appeal  to a large audience when compared to the tradition and often very sterile feel of church. The theme of everyone is welcome while used in other church  settings is unique in the cowboy church because its down home, grass roots no pretense feel has a truth to it.
Come as you are, you are welcome here is the message  that 3C wants to share.

Wk1-SunshineFlower-HW-Article2 Summary

The second article I read was more straight forward than the first. It didn't read as a friendly
reminder  but more as  business like detailed instructions of what each component of a web page should do and look.  I found this article very informative. It covered some of the items covered in the previous article and gave information on things I wouldn't have thought of like plug-ins and a way to remedy common issues with them.It did mention the web safe colors, which I  will have to go back and re read the previous article.Monitor size makes a lot of sense as well. Overall I think this article was geared more toward teaching the what not to do's and the why's of web design verses print design. I came away with a little better understanding of what goes into designing a web page and things to remember like when to use a jpeg or a gif. I feel e bit more sure of my ability to create a page and not be  so terrified when an onslaught of initials comes flying at me (fla/swf,cms,php,html,css).

Wk1-SunshineFlower-HW-Article1 Summary

The first article I read was over the common mistakes that are made by print designers
transitioning to web design. The article was ingeniusly titled as a letter.Dear print designer
doing web design.Very nice. The author states that not all print to web designers are set up for failure and lists several that have transitioned smoothly and gone on to great things,Jason Santa Maria is one example. The article covers the important points of web verses print, resoloution, typography ,viewport,PSD layers and then some unfamiliar terms like vertical pixel prescision, vertical grids, non interaction. Which really sound very sci-fi E.T. to me.After this class I'm sure I'll be more familiar. What I took away from this article is to remember web is 72,there are limited fonts unless you embed, clean up your layers, name and group your layers, and an interesting bit about web safe colors being a thing of the past.Which makes me happy since thats one less thing for me to mess up on. Finally it listed additional reading material, which I intend to take full advantage of to minimize the chance of humiliation.

I am posting this picture for my profile page. I am extremely shy and insecure and so I thought an illustration best suited this project. It illustrates both my name and disposition very well.
Thank you,
